The Space

Located in the English basement of a row house in leafy Mount Pleasant, the apartment is designed for quiet and rest, with artisan decorative touches throughout — books, journals, and contemplative resources are provided. It’s ideal for a solo retreat but can comfortably fit 6–10 people for day use, with up to 4 overnight guests.

There are plenty of lovely touches to delight you. You may find garden flowers on the windowsill, the perfect book to while away an afternoon, or freshly baked bread. You might even roller skate!

Things to Do

Reserve the space overnight or for full/half day use, offering ample time to settle in:

  • Lounge in the large main reading and sleeping area
  • Meander the trails in nearby Rock Creek Park
  • Stop for coffee at one of the neighborhood’s lovely cafes
  • Fix up a nourishing meal in the eat-in kitchen
  • Eat outside on the patio overlooking the garden
  • Relax in a hammock before setting up a firepit as the sun goes down

Maybe you’re carving out time for yourself while kids are in school. Maybe you need to schedule deep work thinking or take a writing retreat. We also welcome small events, like a cozy arts night or small group retreat.
